The sight in his left eye went in a flash of white. A kaleidoscopic flower appeared in his line of vision. A bulging pain began to emanate from behind the eye. He called his doctor, then his optometrist. They got him in at the last minute. “You’re going to have a migraine,” the optometrist said upon walking in. “Take some Advil. The white will go away on its own.”
